**Upgrading the Mcu/ppm on Nokia phones is relatively simple:

Common reasons for upgrading are :
* To get rid of bug (freezing or rebooting)
* To add new features (e.g. new games, t9, etc)
* To add to exsiting features (e.g. better gprs, better wap, etc)

Requirements:
* Flasher Cables

* Rolis Flasher477 (contain in my NK free CD)
* Jordik's Nokia Tool (contain in my NK free CD )
* Mcu/Ppm Flash Files (contain in my NK free CD)

01.
First ensure the flasher cables (parallel connection) are connected to the computer and phone then open Rolis Flasher 477

02.
Select your phone model from the dropdown list on the right hand side

03.
Goto File->Write and choose the flash file in the NK sw CD (try to use the modified flash file that contain in my NK free CD)

04.
Make sure the start address is 200000 (This is the common start address for all mcu/ppm upgrades on Nokia DCT3 phones!) and hit OK

05.
The soft will say "Power phone on shortly". This means you should hold the phones power button for a second or two - the phone wont turn on but it will "ignite" allowing the flashing process to take place. After ignition the software will start sending the flash to the phone!

06.
Now, the phone has the new software but will not log onto the network - this is because the FAiD (Flash Authority ID) has not been calculated. The FAiD is a security measure used by NMP(tm). to prevent unauthorised flashing of phones!
Connect the mbus cable (serial cable) to both the computer and the phone. Then, open Jordik Nokia tool and select your Com Port from the dropdown menu (top center)

07.
Press the "Read Phone Info" button (Bottom right) - the software will now read the phones info. If this process fails check your cable and connection!

08.
Press "Update FAID" - the phones Flash authority ID will be updated allowing the phone to log on to the network

09.
Some phones and even some particular software versions can have minor problems after an upgrade such as freezing in certain menus (usually games and messages), making "crackly" buzzer noises, etc.
To solve these problems we must reset the phone to factory settings - to do so select the "Select All" radio button in the Special Factory Settings section then press "Make Selected"

Well, with any luck you'll have your phones mcu/ppm upgraded!

*Although EVERYONE fails the first time around so if you were unsuccessful go through the steps again and you'll get it!
